Membership benefits: When you become a Channelkeeper member, you become part of the Channelkeeper crew - and a vital part of our success. As a member, you are investing in clean water and a healthy coast along the Santa Barbara Channel today and for future generations. Your contributions help Channelkeeper monitor local waterways, protect and restore marine habitats, educate current and future generations about the importance of water quality, and advocate for clean water and healthy watersheds in our community.

Donating is the fastest way to make a difference, whether you want to get more involved or simply monitor our progress from afar. By becoming a member at the Snowy Plover level ($25), the Blue Whale level ($10,000), or anywhere in between, you'll receive our regular newsletters, invitations to special events and fun volunteer opportunities, a free Channelkeeper sticker, and, most importantly, a stake in our claim for clean water and healthy watersheds.

*NEW MEMBER BENEFITS! Donors contributing $50 or more can receive a t-shirt, and for donations of $250 or more, quarterly issues of the Waterkeeper magazine delivered to your home.

Many companies will match donations of employees. Ask your employer if they can double or triple your donation!

There are a number of other, non-cash ways to donate to Channelkeeper, many of which have special tax benefits:

~ Contribute securities (i.e. stock, bonds, IRA's)

~ Create a gift fund (i.e. a charitable remainder trust) that will provide you and/or your benefactor with an income for a specified amount of time; at the end of that period, the fund will become a gift to Channelkeeper

~ Make a gift to Channelkeeper for a specified amount of time by placing assets into a charitable lead trust, the principal of which will return to you and/or another beneficiary whom you select

~ Designate Channelkeeper as the owner or beneficiary of a fully paid life insurance policy

~ Include our organization in your estate plan, and name Channelkeeper as the irrevocable beneficiary of a bequest

We recommend that you discuss planned gifts with your financial advisor and/or tax attorney to ensure that your investment offers maximum benefits to you and Channelkeeper.
