July 25, 2013 is the first annual Swimmable California Day, recognizing Californians’ right to waters that are clean and safe for swimming.
Celebrate with Santa Barbara Channelkeeper by:
• Doing a 500m, 1k or 1 mile swim as part of Reef & Run (followed by live music, food and festivities).
• Submit photos to the Swimmable California Day Photo Contest. Take a photo of you or a loved one enjoying your local beach or swimming hole and upload it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #SwimmableCA. CCKA will be collecting photos through July 31st and selecting a grand prize winner ($150 REI gift card), as well as top entries for best swimmable pet, best swimmable youngsters, and wettest photo ($25 REI gift cards).
